A Happy Ten Month Old Baby!

Mum writes:

Micah has been keeping us so busy. In spite of that, the happy baby manages to somehow charm us every hour of the day, and compels us to spend every minute possible with him.

Micah turned 10 months old today. As if he understood that mummy thinks the day was special, he woke up all bubbly and was  “ba, ba, ba”-ing”, “ah-jeh, jeh”-ing and giggly for the whole day!

After we dropped daddy off at work, we went shopping at the local grocery store, Jewel Osco. We had always been shopping with Micah in his stroller or in our arms. Today, I decided to put the baby on the shopping cart. As it turned out, Micah loved the ride on the cart and started swinging his leg and talking away almost immediately!

Here comes Micah!

Here comes Micah!

Yay! This is so fun!

Hood off - that feels better! Thanks mummy!

Now I could even see the balloons!

Now I could even see the balloons!

Speaking of which, Micah seems to find balloons fascinating. He always look out for them at the supermarket, and is contented to just stare at them for a very long time.

Oh, are we going home already?

Oh, are we going home already?

Back at home, after a hearty lunch we went upstairs to play. These days, Micah’s definition of play has been what I called (in terms Micah understands), “standing tall”. He would find every opportunity to spring up to a standing position. Since this morning, he has also learned to make his way from one end of a support to the other. Here are some of the actions caught in pictures!

"Let me see that I can find in here today"

Hm, something nice and soft!

Ah! One of my woolen socks!

OK, what else can I find?

ah-ah, Micah! NO TOUCH the vaseline jar (says mummy)

Alrite then, mummy. Maybe I can find my other green socks

I think I found it, mummy!

"I think I found it, mummy!"

It is a lot of fun watching Micah exploring his ever-expanding world and tracking his development. Well done Micah and happy 10 months old! Mummy and daddy are very proud of you and we love you very much!

A Freezing Cold Mid-Winter Day

We have been having very cold weather with the temperatures in the negatives! We have had quite a lot of snow too. Daddy and I went to our balcony with a ruler last weekend to check out the accumulation of snow there – take a look at this:

a whopping 7 inches!

After my afternoon nap today, mummy decided to play dress up with me. She pulled out this tiger suit given to me by my grandaunt Dolly earlier – all the way from Malaysia! (THANKS, grandaunt Dolly!!) Don’t you think this outfit is fun?

Mummy thinks I look like aunty Sue Ching in this pic!

After we played, it was still bright out. Mummy decided that we go get some fresh air. We bundled up and took a nice walk around the block. I love being close to my mummy in the Baby Bjorn. With her hands free, she could even take a picture of the both of us by our front door!

bundled up!

There is nothing like it – to be feeling so warm, cozy and comfy on such a freezing cold mid-winter day!

Chewing

Filed under: dad writes — micahchan @ 11:50 pm

Dad writes:

Micah will chew on anything we give him now that he has at least 8 baby teeth (4 on top and 4 on the bottom). We’ve been giving him all the teething toys that we have but Micah seems to prefer chewing on the little white labels that tell you how to wash them (you know – machine wash cold, tumble dry low etc…).

Anyway, I grabbed some pics a while back of Micah biting down on two of his most favorite teething items:

Interestingly enough, Micah has gotten so good at biting that he’s even managed to hand on to stuff in his mouth without holding on to it with his hands. This leaves his arms free for crawling, which he is just learning to do. Pretty funny.
